We had one of our amazing customers call this week and he said that he changed the filter on his Drone Cone and saw a big jump in throughput. Is it possible that going from a 50 mesh to the 30 mesh, the largest mesh opening size Banjo Valves makes, could have that big of a difference when filling the tank on your drone?
We were skeptical, so we ran some tests.
The DJI T50 filled about 4 seconds faster. That's 4 seconds on a 10 gallon tank, which would be about 10 seconds on a DJI T100 with a 26 gallon tank.
Changing the filter gave a 13.7% increase in performance!
Is that a big deal? Well it's big enough that from now on we are going to ship the Drone Cone with a 30 mesh Banjo filter instead of the 50 mesh. If you already have a Drone Cone you can order a replacement screen for around $25.
