At AvaryDrone.com, we specialize in high-quality drones, including popular DJI models like the Matrice series. Due to recent U.S. regulatory changes affecting foreign-made drones (including those from DJI), we want to be fully transparent about warranty, support, and service options for DJI products purchased from us.
Background on U.S. Regulations
In late 2025, the Federal Communications Commission (FCC) added certain foreign unmanned aircraft systems (UAS/drones) and components—including those from DJI—to its Covered List for national security reasons. This restricts new imports, FCC authorizations for future models, and related support logistics starting after December 23, 2025.
- Existing DJI drones (models already FCC-approved before the cutoff) remain legal to own, fly, and purchase from existing stock.
- New DJI models (post-cutoff) face import/sale restrictions in the U.S.
- Some exemptions and clarifications were issued in early 2026, but the overall impact on service and parts availability persists.
These changes have made it challenging for DJI to provide consistent warranty repairs, replacements, parts sourcing, and extended protection plans in the United States.
DJI Warranty and Support Status
DJI's standard limited warranty (typically 12–24 months depending on the product, e.g., 24 months for Matrice aircraft/remotes) applies to manufacturing defects, but fulfillment in the U.S. is now significantly limited due to the restrictions.
- DJI Care Refresh / DJI Care Enterprise — These extended protection plans are no longer available for new activations or reliably honored in the U.S. (many reports indicate they have been paused or discontinued for North American customers).
- Repairs, replacements, and spare parts may face delays, denials, or unavailability, even for in-warranty issues.
- DJI has stated intent to support existing users where possible, but outcomes vary case-by-case.
AvaryDrone.com does not provide any manufacturer warranty or extended service on DJI drones. We are an authorized reseller, but we do not handle DJI warranty claims, repairs, or replacements. Any warranty coverage is solely between you and DJI.
Your Options for Support and Repairs
If you experience an issue with your DJI drone (e.g., defect, dead pixel on remote, battery problems):
- Contact DJI Directly (recommended first step) Submit a repair/warranty request at: repair.dji.com Provide your proof of purchase, serial numbers, photos/videos of the issue, and details. DJI will review your case and advise on any available options. For enterprise products (e.g., Matrice series), check DJI Enterprise support channels.
- Purchase Replacement Parts/Accessories Compatible remotes, batteries, propellers, etc., may still be available through remaining U.S. stock, authorized dealers, or third-party sources. We may carry or source some items—contact us to check current availability.
- Third-Party Repair Options Independent drone repair services in the U.S. can often handle common fixes (e.g., screen issues, motor replacements) without relying on DJI parts.
- Live with Minor Issues For non-critical problems (like a single dead pixel), many users continue operating safely.
We understand this situation is frustrating for everyone in the industry. We're here to help with pre-purchase questions, product recommendations, or sourcing compatible accessories. Feel free to reach out via our contact form or at [your email/phone].
Thank you for choosing AvaryDrone.com—we appreciate your business and understanding during this transitional period for DJI products in the U.S.
